Putin: Russia will do everything to put an end to the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan that took place in Sochi was useful, it created an atmosphere for future agreements on some fundamental issues. This was announced by Vladimir Putin in a press statement following the summit meeting today, October 31.

A joint statement was adopted, the head of state informed.

“Today we agreed on a joint statement. I must say frankly that not everything was agreed upon, some things had to be removed from the text previously worked out at the level of specialists. Nevertheless, I agree with the general assessment that the meeting was useful, and this creates the conditions for further steps towards resolving the situation as a whole,”

 — said the Russian leader.

Putin expressed confidence that the discussion that took place demonstrated the ability of all interested parties to come to an agreement.

“Russia will do everything to ensure that a final and comprehensive settlement is reached. As agreed, we will continue this dialogue and will continue to search for the solutions that are necessary in order to put an end to this long-lasting conflict,”

 – assured the President of the Russian Federation.

Earlier on Monday, Vladimir Putin held separate meetings with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev . The Russian leader expressed confidence that the time has come to resolve the Karabakh conflict.
